We say that getting to the truth is like peeling back the layers of an onion. But what we have the hardest time accepting is that facts should change your beliefs, and beliefs should never change the facts. Learning to sit with the truth can leave you feeling vulnerable and uncomfortable, but living in a "distorted" truth sets us up for a pain much greater to overcome.
