"Men have forgotten this truth,' said the fox. 'But you must not forget it. You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed." [Antoine de Saint-Exupery]
This is a quote from the beloved book, "The Little Prince", which was originally written in French. The word "apprivoiser" was translated into English as "tame", but in French, this word doesn't have the same connotation as "dominance" over another as it does in English, but instead relates to nurturing and stewardship. These words remind me that we all have our wild side that we struggle to "tame" within us. The reality is in order to live in communion with others, we need take responsibility for those raw feelings so that they are nurtured within us and not unleashed on those around us.
